Hi, I’m Lisa. This is my little corner of the internet, a place where I share the things I make: music, poetry, books, art, studies, and photographs. I want you to feel comfortable here, so here is a plain, honest explanation of what happens with your information when you visit. No fine print, no tricks.
The short version
I am not in the business of collecting or selling your data. I don’t run ads. The only reason I would ever ask for your email is so I can tell you when I have made something new, and only if you ask me to.
If you join my mailing list
When you sign up for updates, I collect your email address, and nothing else. I use it for one thing only: to let you know when I release a new song, publish a new poem, or add something new to the site. I will never sell it, share it, or hand it to anyone.
You can leave any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email, and you are gone, no hard feelings. Your address is handled through my email tools and my web host’s mail servers, purely so those messages can actually reach your inbox.
If you leave a comment
If you comment on a post, the site saves what you type, along with your IP address and browser information, which simply helps me catch spam. If you use a Gravatar, your little avatar may appear next to your comment. That is all.
A bit of anonymous analytics
I use Google’s tools (through Google Site Kit) to see general, anonymous things, like which pages people enjoy and roughly where visitors come from. It helps me understand what is resonating, so I can make more of what you love. This is aggregate information, not tied to your name. You can read how Google handles data in their own privacy policy, and if you would rather not be counted, most browsers let you block analytics cookies. That is completely fine by me.
Cookies
A few small cookies may be set, for example to remember your details if you leave a comment, or by the analytics I mentioned above. They are harmless, and you can clear or block them in your browser settings any time.
Images and embedded content
Some pages may include embedded content, like a music or video player. Those behave just as if you had visited the other website directly. And one small, friendly note: if you ever send me a photo, images can quietly carry hidden location data, so you may want to strip that out first if you would like to keep it private.
Your choices, always
You can unsubscribe whenever you want. You can also ask me what information I have about you, or ask me to delete it, and I will take care of it. It is your information, and you are in charge of it.
